Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) invites experienced applicants for a various Directors of Development positions as well as a Director of Prospect Research within the University Advancement department. The Directors will be responsible for the identification, solicitation, and stewardship of potential donors for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) and the assigned school or unit.
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is a premier metropolitan university located on the bluffs of the Mississippi River just 22 miles east of St. Louis, MO. Working in collaboration with the Vice Chancellor for University Advancement and the department Dean, the Directors will implement the strategic development plan, providing annual and major gifts for the School, particularly gifts towards the School's campaign goals. The selected candidates will also assist with reporting and analysis of annual donor giving, as well as department communications and event planning.
Additionally, the Directors will participate in regular departmental meetings and collaborate together with other members of the University Advancement staff. Due to the professional responsibilities of these positions, extensive local, regional and/or national travel may be required. Evening and weekend hours may also be needed during special events and programs.

Director of Development-
- Bachelor's degree. - At least three years of full-time, progressively responsible fundraising experience, including major-gift fundraising experience, preferably in higher education. - Demonstrated success and evidence of ability to plan and execute cultivation and fundraising plans. - Strong communication skills, including the ability to write and speak persuasively about SIUE. - Willingness to travel extensively and to work outside of normal business hours. - Strong organizational and time-management skills. - Experience with Blackbaud preferred.
Director of Prospect Research-
-Bachelor's degree. Degree in applied statistics, library sciences, or related degree is preferred; -Five (5) years' experience in information or prospect research, preferably in a university setting; -Experience performing data mining, research and analysis using various forms and sources of information; -Membership in the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement. -Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of philanthropy and comprehensive campaign fundraising practices. -Strong computer, analytical and organizational skills with the ability to apply those skills effectively. -Writing and presentation skills.
