We're now seeking a public relations strategist to lead the agency’s expanding PR department, providing integrated solutions to its growing roster of clients in our Reston, VA office.
Work with marketing strategists to develop and execute integrated communication plans for agency clients.
Manage client relationships, in collaboration with account services team.
Lead the PR team -- hiring, training and developing staff while collaborating with leadership to set and execute agency vision.
Grow the PR client base by identifying new prospects or expanding current scopes of work, and by adding innovative service offerings to the mdg portfolio. Participate in new business pitches, ideation workshops and initial campaign kick-off meetings with clients.
Research, draft, and proofread press releases, infographics, blogs, talking points, speeches and content, ensuring they are on strategy, error-free and convey authenticity by capturing the voice of assigned clients.
Manage client press room and overall media relations, supporting media requests, serving as a spokesperson, coordinating media opportunities, etc

10 or more years of PR, marketing or content development experience is required, with 5 or more years in a leadership and supervisory role.
Agency experience and established media relationships are strongly preferred
Excellent writing, proofreading and verbal communication skills are required.
Background in association and/or trade show marketing is preferred.
Public affairs experience is preferred.
Must be active on social media and competent in best practices for all major channels and have proficiency in analyzing web analytics and using online research tools.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or Marketing strongly preferred.
Experience with PR Newswire and Cision or Meltwater and NUVI is preferred.
