The Director of Education will manage a portfolio of offerings that includes online education, in-person courses, certification exams, and conference programming. S/he will work with volunteers, instructors, members and committees to develop and deliver high-level, high-quality and engaging learning events for the aquatics industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Vice President, Education to develop, manage and implement education strategy and goals for PHTA
Work with Vice President, Education to identify opportunity areas for content development
Work with instructors, volunteers and staff
Collaborate with instructors, volunteers and staff to define the learner objectives and the instructional approach needed to meet the objectives.
Develop final assessments and evaluations
Develop and submit status reports to Vice President, Education
Provide customer service and technical issue resolution to PHTA customers
Liaison to vendors and industry partners
Develop budgets for programs and be accountable for accomplishment of customer satisfaction, revenue goals, internal teamwork, and volunteer and/or instructor management.
Maintains a high level of customer service, both internally and externally
Works with meetings and marketing/communication teams to coordinate logistics and promotion for events
Assesses program content, development, and execution through evaluative methods
Manages Education Coordinator
Other duties as assigned
Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree in adult education or related field preferred.
At least 5 years of work history in progressively responsible positions in association education, including experience with program design, development, delivery, and evaluation
Experience with the design, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of online programming in both synchronous and asynchronous modalities, including experience working with learning management systems
Experience with the management of certification programs
Solid understanding of association management; CAE preferred
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; time management skills and detailed oriented;
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in the use of learning management software, association management software, and MS Office
Ability to effectively apply adult learning principles and instructional design processes.
