The Senior Planned Giving Officer is responsible for:
Being a member of the Children’s Hospital Trust Planned Giving Department, the Senior Planned Gift Officer, under the direction of the Planned Giving Director, is responsible for the development and implementation of planned giving activities and projects and to assist in the major growth of the planned giving program.
Helping to develop cultivation and solicitation strategies; solicit and close gifts where needed, and ensure appropriate and timely stewardship of gifts.
Managing a blended gift portfolio; interacts with high?level volunteer leadership; senior physicians; and senior Children's Hospital Trust staff.
Developing and execute strategies to secure gifts and assures appropriate and timely cultivation and stewardship.
Based on performance, the SPGO assumes increasing levels of responsibility and independence.
To qualify, you must have:
The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree, plus two years post?degree course work in philanthropy and non?profit management and/or business administration, and a minimum of five years previous development experience, preferably in a mid? to high?volume development department with proven success record of closing major and blended gift asks.
The analytical skills to resolve scientific, clinical, human resources, legal financial or administrative problems that require the innovative application of the highest levels of specialized knowledge and/or develop financial and operating plans for one of the hospital's major departments/divisions.
Versatility and ability to change focus rapidly and adeptly while managing with diplomacy and acute attention numerous competing priorities.
The ability to carry out wide range (in both scope and correlating necessary skill?set) of potential assignments.
Excellent planning and organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Consistent attention to detail, high level of productivity, and a solution?oriented performer who can be highly responsive to both staff and donor issues.
Analytical skills to resolve problems through innovative application of high levels of specialized development knowledge, plus the ability and desire to improve and enhance existing knowledge base.
Strong technical skills in generic software programs (Excel, Microsoft, Power Point) and information systems, and the ability to develop proficiency in specific data base management systems in particular an understanding of PG Calc.
