Mercymount Country Day School is seeking a strategic, results-oriented and collaborative professional to join our team to effectively lead all Advancement and Admissions for our Preschool to grade 8 independent catholic school in Cumberland, RI. This individual will be an ambassador and advocate for Mercymount promoting the mission and engaging positive relationships with students, families, alumni and the community. This position will build and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects. This position will participate in the management of fundraising boards and committees, including the recruitment and management of volunteer leaders. As a part of the school's development team, s/he will also work with staff members to manage budgets, guarantee the high-quality stewardship of donors, ensure the proper processing and acknowledgment of gifts and pledges, and implement additional strategies to introduce new donors/friends to the school.
Build an effective strategy to secure gift commitments in support of the school and ensure stewardship of donors to the School Create and execute an action plan for retention of regular leadership donors ($1,000+) to the School Build pipeline of major and principal gifts to the School by following referrals and qualifying prospective donors Purposefully develop events to engage new people with a compelling message and facilitate connections with alumni relations, faculty, friends and volunteers Lead the role of fundraising within the School community to achieve annual goals. Maintain current donor listings and submit accurate and timely activity reports Foster strong working relationships with the school community Develop and execute an annual admissions plan to achieve annual goals Review and evaluate undergraduate applications for admission to the school and participate in admissions committee meetings Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador for Mercymount while counseling prospective students, families, and other interested parties regarding our programs and admission processes
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years of progressive fundraising and admissions experience in education or an equivalent setting Experience managing and mentoring fundraising staff Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills with a “can do” attitude Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with demonstrated public speaking experience Proven track record of structuring proposals and securing major/leadership gifts Demonstrated success in building admissions in an education environment. Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint, Adobe Suite and some experience working with complex databases Experience with print design layout and progressive social media skills Must possess the ability to work independently and as a member of a team
