Highly regarded, leading financial services trade association is seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to support our senior management team as Chief of Staff. As a strategist, consultant and implementer, the successful candidate will ensure streamlined activities within the Institute based on the priorities of the CEO. Position will be based in IRI’s Washington, D.C. Headquarters.
The Chief of Staff will oversee enterprise wide project management to allow the CEO to focus on growing membership and pursuing new initiatives. The right candidate for the job will contribute to the long-term success of our organization.
Chief of Staff responsibilities and duties:
Acts as an adviser to the CEO and senior management team on strategic and operational matters.
Assists the CEO in facilitating effective decision-making by utilizing data based analysis, research, industry awareness, and seeking the input of IRI team members.
Coordinates the execution of strategic initiatives and serves as a senior enterprise-wide project manager to ensure that projects are well planned, implemented, and documented in a manner that facilitates adherence to timelines and produces results.
Assesses inquiries directed to the CEO, determines the proper course of action, and delegates to the appropriate individual to manage.
Oversees Finance, Human Resources, Internal Technology and Infrastructure, Business Compliance, and other operational functions.
Depending on expertise, may oversee one or more key programmatic areas of the Institute.
Participates in strategic planning, budget preparation, and organizational development.
Crafts executive level presentations, talking points, agendas, and pre-meeting briefings.
Participates in regular meetings with the Human Resources (HR) Manager to discuss potential staffing issues, workload distribution, compliance issues, and other HR matters.
At the direction of the CEO, attends industry meetings, Board meetings, and other outside events as appropriate.
Treats sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and discretion.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
5+ years’ executive level experience in a Chief of Staff or similar executive role.
Senior level association experience in a C(6) or C(7); experience in the financial services industry highly desired.
Significant experience in project management including the use of project management software applications. Outstanding technology skills including proficiency with Association Management Systems.
Impeccable managerial and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of effectively interacting with executive and senior management.
Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments.
Effective, versatile and action-oriented.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to Travel.
