We currently have an excellent career opportunity for Senior Tax Manager candidates in our Mobility team. Mobility services include Canadian and US personal income and social security tax compliance and advisory services; mobility policy design; executive compensation advice; employer tax advice; and global coordination. Using cutting-edge technology and working with team-oriented colleagues, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting internationally mobile employees of our clients with their Canadian and US personal tax compliance. Your key responsibilities
Develop a strong executive brand within EY across all service lines and externally within the mobility world e.g. mobility managers; human resource and tax professionals.
Sign-off of Executive and High Net Worth complex Canadian and US tax compliance and advisory deliverables
Establish and maintain excellent long-term relationships with clients
Seek increased revenue through both existing and new client relationships. Represent EY at external networking events
Provide coaching, mentoring and feedback through formal and informal means to more junior colleagues on tax technical and performance management skills
Manage and contribute to the attainment of group and individual goals by sharing knowledge, monitoring engagement and team performance, providing guidance and productive feedback, and facilitating teamwork
Manage the financials of client accounts by reviewing and approving budgets, determining resource requirements, ensuring timely invoicing and appropriate revenue recognition
Develop and innovate new service offerings
Ensure the team is leveraging technology and automation to maximize productivity
Contribute to a flexible, collaborative, and team-oriented culture that fosters personal development
Skills and attributes for success
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage client and team commitments in a fast-paced environment through effective prioritization and delegation
Commitment to on-going learning in a tax technical environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to collaborate with a large team of professionals toward common objectives to exceed client expectations
To qualify for the role you must have
Post-secondary degree or diploma in business/accounting or a related field
Enrolled Agent License to practice in front of the IRS will be required within six months of joining
Minimum seven years of US and/or Canadian personal tax experience
Experience with developing team members through formal or informal methods
Experience working directly with clients/customers in a professional setting
Ability to share knowledge and motivate team as well as initiative to stay abreast of current trends and technical advancements
Sound professional judgement and high level of professionalism
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
