Higher Education company seeks a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide ethical, prudent, and expert oversight in an exciting, start-up
environment. Reporting directly to the CEO, our CFO will have the opportunity to lead a high
performing team working across a growing portfolio of companies. The company is an

The company is dedicated to creating new, scalable, technology enabled solutions that advance teaching, learning, and administration on the global stage.
The CFO will serve as a trusted, senior advisor to the CEO and responsible for optimizing the
financial operations of the portfolio companies. The CFO provides financial reporting, trends, and risk management advisory, all with anticipatory tenor, to the CEO and Board of Directors. The position also oversees accounting, financial policy and compliance, as well as the assurance that Ventures' practices are aligned with the regulatory environment. This position is located in Washington, DC metro area and will require up to 10% travel.
Other responsibilities include:
Provides financial leadership and coordination of financial planning and reporting procedures, budget development, and management functions, including interim and final financial statements (F /S)
Oversees the preparation of annual operating budgets and produces monthly F/S along with analyses identifying trends and showing results vs. budget and historical performance
Serves as a key advisor on financial management including revenue enhancement and cost controls, strategy and capital development and allocation
Provides financial leadership to the directors and managers that will create ownership of goals and encourage active participation in decisions that impact the organization
Acts as a catalyst for organizational change; influences others to translate vision into action; leads strategic change and continuous improvement initiatives, towards organizational strategy
Formulates objectives and priorities and implements plans consistent with the long-term
interests of the organization; also capitalizes on opportunities and manages risks
Provides active leadership for the financial improvement of the organization in partnership with the CEO, senior leadership, and the Board

An earned MBA or Master's degree from a regionally-accredited institution of higher learning; at least 12 years of progressive financial management and leadership experience; and prior experience in a financial leadership position with a technology start-up/early-stage businesses.
